Delete a shared image
The CaptionYourPhoto apps have no accounts, so there is no profile to close and nothing about you for us to hold. The only thing we ever store is an image you chose to share — and this page is how you take one down.
Paste the link
Any link to the image will do: the shop link you shared, the address of the picture itself, or just the long code from the end of it.
You'll see the image and be asked to confirm before anything is deleted.
Where to find the link
- In the message you sent. Sharing from the app sends a link — that link contains the code.
- In your basket at the shop. Every mug there has its own Delete my image from the server link, which does this for that design and takes the mug out of your basket, since it can no longer be printed.
- In your order confirmation, if you bought a mug.
If you can't find it
You don't have to. Every shared image is deleted automatically within two weeks, whether anyone asks or not — so an image whose link you've lost will go on its own, and the link stops working when it does. Nothing you have shared stays on our server beyond that.
If you would rather it went sooner and you cannot find the link, email info@captionyourphoto.com. Please say roughly when you shared it and what it was of. We should be straight with you about the limits here: with no accounts, we have no list of what belongs to whom, so we cannot look up "everything you have ever shared" from an email address alone. What we can do is help you track down a link, and delete anything you can point us at.
What is never uploaded
Photos you edit in the app and don't share never leave your phone — there is nothing on our side to delete. Removing the app removes them. The Privacy Policy sets out what is stored, for how long, and who can see it.
